The Questionnaire for dishcloth swap

When did you learn to knit? Who taught you?
I learned to knit last year and was shown by my grandma.

What was your very first completed object? Your most recent?
An Apple Dishcloth. My most recent is a set of coaster for a wedding shower.

What was the very first thing you sent to the frog pond? (pulled out and started over) Your most recent?
The first item was a coat. And I must say I have frogged it again last week. *SIGH* I don’t think it will ever get done.

What is currently on the needles for you?
I have a pair of legwarmers and a hat.

What types of needles do you enjoy working with? What have you tried and hated? I love metal and I dislike wood or bamboo. I knit tight as it is and these just make me knit tighter.

Have you knit dishcloths before? Yes

What was your favorite one? Apple

Least favorite? Non yet.

Do you use homemade dishcloths or face cloths yourself, or give them as gifts, or both? I have only given them away so far.

What are your favorite and least favorite scents? (For your body, such as soap/lotion/etc) Almond is my Favorite and rose is my least.

What are your favorite colors? Pink, purple, and gray

What colors (if any) are your bathroom and kitchen decorated in? My Bathroom is creams and so is the kitchen.

What other hobbies and crafts do you enjoy? I love to take pictures and I write.

Chocolate: Dark? White? Milk? Ew? MILK. WOW!!!

Do you like salty treats? What kinds? I love Pretzles

If you could go anywhere in the world for one day and spend the day any way you wanted, where would you go and what would you do? I would love to go to Hawaii, and just take as many pictures as I could.

Do you have any allergies? (Yarns, foods, etc. that might impact what your pal can send) None.

Some Things that are ready

Hi all,

I have a few things that are ready to have the ends weaved in. I am still looking for the best way to do that. I also have one legwarmer done and the other 6" in. I want to also get a gift on the needles before tuesday. But I am getting headaches again and that is a huge problem for me. I can't seem to think stright when I have one. (BTW, I have one now so please excuse the rambling).

Ok, on to the goodies...

Here are the coasters before blocking....

I really love this pattern. The boarder is done with YOs so it has a lacely look to it. I am making my second set of these, in green for my MIL for Christmas. I have two made for her. But I needed a break from them so I started my legwarmer.

And then the pastle coasters were off to take a bath...

And then the block....

And now the legwarmers.......

Now, I must be on some kind of pastle kick. LOL I love the color of these legwarmers. The pattern was supposed to go all the way up your thight. But that wasn't pratical for me so I modified the pattern and made them knee high and able to scrunch down.
Now I think I will pick up some circular needles this week. So I can start that gift.

Two Inches

Hi all,

Ok. SO I have blocked the coasters and they are ready to have their ends weaved in. Will have to go looking for a darning neddle. I have also started the second legwarmer. Oh, boy. I have two inches of ribbing. And I love it already. I can't wait to see what they look like when they are done.

I have to say that with having somethng to listen to while I knit, (Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone audio cd) it really makes the knitting go faster. And I am really enjoying this feeling of getting things done. I have no UFO's except the legwarmer I am working on.

Hope to have photos up tomorrow after work. Now that I have to use a film camera again, it takes longer for me to post photos.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

Bamboo Knitting Needles

Hi all,

I have 4 sets of stright Bamboo knitting needles I cannot use that I am look to sell or trade. Each set was $6.00 but I am asking $4.00 per set but will trade for the same size in metal. I find I knit tight and the bamboo makes my stitches tighter. I have only used the #8 needles 3 times and the others never the only one in its package are the DPN's.

I have one set of #6, # 8, #11 & #5. I also have one set of five DPN's in Bamboo they cost $8.00 so I am asking $7.00 these were never used and still in the package all of the neddles are from clover. The DPN's are # 5.

Knitting Books & Coasters

Hi all,

I know have three of the four coasters I need done and I have already cast on and made a few rows of the fourth. Hope to block soon. I am going to look into a better way to weave in ends, because mine always seem.. I don't know like the are going to come out or something.

I think the next thing I tackle in the second legwarmer. Then a hat in baby blue to match the scarf I made for a co-worker. I will be ordering the bulk of my gift yarn with my first paycheck in may. Knitpicks here I come. LOL.

I recived the three books I was waiting for and boy oh boy am I going to have fun. I LOVE the Domiknitrix book. It is full of cool info. The Romantic Knits is really nice also. I am looking to make a few things for myself in it.

The Naughty Neeldes.... UMMMM I don't know what I am going to do with this book. But knit the patterns is not one of the things I am thinking of doing anytime in the near future.

I will be trying to sew a knitting bag in the near future. And maybe find a pattern for a felted basket to keep my large at home projects in. I am also making little spools to wind my yarn onto. Until I get a ball winder and a swift. *SIGH* Knitting cost alot but I love it.

What do I want....

Hi all,

I was wondering today what it is I want to get out of my knitting. I came up with the fact that nothing makes me happier then when I am knitting. I mean it relives my stress. And I love the feel of the yarn and the colors.

But I have just entered my 28th year and this is the year of our new life cycle so this leads me to my conclusion as to what I want to get out of my knitting.

I would love to one day own my own yarn shop. Maybe offer classes and a knitting in a round circle. But first I want to learn all I can about my craft. (BTW, for those of you how don't know
me that well. I am an all or nothing type of gal. Throw me in the deep and and I will learn to swim. But put me in the wadding pool and I would even float.) So I was thinking of taking the knitting masters course that TKGA offers. But I can't seems to find the cost.

Well, I think I shall sleep on this one. But if I do decide to go with it I won't even attempet it until after all my gift knitting is done.

Forgot to add Legwarmer one is done. Now back to the coasters I need for June.

nothing to show

Hi all,

I haven't been knitting much these past few months becuase work has been busy. And I had an accident with my digital camera. So I had no insentive to make anything. But.... Now I am back with a vengence.

I have started two sets of coasters. One for my M-I-L for either mother's day or christmas. And the other set is for a lady I work with. Well her daughter is getting married in July and the shower is in June so I started a set for her. And I hope to make a few other things to put in.

I also have legwarmers for myself on the sticks. I figure it this way if I knit one thing for a gift and something for myself I will get all my knitting done before it is needed and I will have a nice little collection for myself.

I have also ordered three new kntiing books:

1) Naughty Knits

2) Domaknitrix

3) Romantic style

I hope they get here soon.

On my list of things to do. Is to make a list of gifts to make and then find patterns that will work.

On my list of gifters is:

1) Mother in law

2) Husband

3) Coworker #1

4) Coworker #2

5) Grandma

6) Dannibat

7) Mizadamz

And maybe a few others.

Ok, enough talk for now. Back to the knitting.
